This little gem arrived to me in perfect condition. Kudos to Amazon for their quick delivery time. The genny itself is bigger than the pictures let on, but for 2000watts, this isn't bad at all. THESE UNITS DO NOT COME WITH OIL IN THEM. Go buy some 4 stroke 10w30 oil at home depot or lowes. Follow the instructions to put the oil in, fill it gas, and turn it on. The pull cord is very easy. Just practice a couple of times. You will love this generator, I promise. I will use it for my travel trailer for camping/fishing during the colder months.

I've had two EFYamaha 2000is generators since the beginning of Sept, 2010 and have mainly used them for camping. The first workout for both of these units was tailgating. I also have a cord that connects the 2 of them to make 4000 watts, more than enough to power your camper A/C (13,000-15,000btu) and everything else in the RV. However, it was colder on this outing and I didn't need to use both hooked together yet. I did bring both of them though and I'm glad I did.

The EF2000iSInverter EF2000iS generator

uses noise reduction technologies to ensure the quietest operation possible. Featuring a special sound-blocking design, the generator has noise-absorbing glass wool construction, which helps dampen noise even during heavy operation. Along with the EF2000iS' super-quiet muffler and vibration-isolating feet, it helps keep noise to a minimum. The guy next to me brought his 6000watt Champion generator, which is construction grade, and told me he was sorry, but would be running it in the mornings. We were about 15 feet away from him. I said no problem, it couldn't be that loud. He then turned it on for me so I could see. WOW! That thing was LOUD. I told him I brought a spare Yamaha inverter and he was welcome to use mine because I told him it would be much quieter. He came over and heard mine running and couldn't believe it. The next morning we were both sleeping soundly, both of us running these awesome Yamaha units.Powerful Inverter System Delivers Cleaner Electricity The EF2000iS is built around an innovative inverter system, which is able to deliver higher-quality, cleaner electricity than competing generators. It produces energy in the form of pure sine waves, which are cleaner and more reliable than most commercial power sources. In simpler terms, this means that you'll be able to confidently power delicate machinery without having to worry about the damage caused by unrefined energy. An electrical overload breaker is also included, to prevent generator damage in case of an unexpected overload.

I purchased this unit at overstock.com, as Amazon was backordered. For <$300 shipped (on sale when I purchased on 11/28), and with all the positive reviews here on Amazon, I decided to take a chance. So far (haven't really used it much yet), I am very happy with my decision. Main use for me is emergency home power backup - fridge, space heater, microwave, lights, tv....just the basics to keep me happy & sane. Garage storage space is an issue for me...and the main reason I didn't go with a larger 5000w model. This one fit my space, budget and needs.

Mine arrived double boxed, I'm guessing drop-shipped from Wen in IL., undamaged. Unpacking & setup were a breeze - the unit itself is just over 100lbs, so no problem for me to unpack it alone. Attaching the handles and wheels took all of 10 minutes (if that), and the instructions were simple to follow (note: in the 2012 manual, they wrongly mention cotter pins for the wheels - there aren't any; just use the locknuts and ignore the cotter pin blurb). Other than that, the manual was easy to follow...apart from the lack of explanation of how the 120/240 switch places the generator's coil windings in series or parallel (read donny's or wisconsin-knight's review for a good explanation).

The Generator:

It got me some basic power back up for my fridge/freezer, charge phones and things like that. I didn't really stress it that much, the priority was my fridge/freezer. But this thing did a great job. It wasn't as loud as I expected to be honest. I was highly pleased with the gas usage, it ran all night and I still had between 1/4 and 1/2 tank the next morning when I checked it. We were out of power for about 5 days, and this generator did it's job nicely. Also it's not all that heavy so it can be portable as needed. Not stout enough to power a ton of things at once, but can definitely get you by in an emergency situation.

Everything went together easily. Have only run it on propane so far, starts very easy, just make sure you do not use the choke when running on propane. Broke it in for 5 hours on regular motor oil, then changed it to synthetic oil. Seems well constructed, and is very heavy, even with the wheel kit, it is not easy to move around.have not used gasoline , but started right up on propane and when I plugged the 50 amp rv plug in with the other end plugged into the welder plug in the shop , it ran everything on the property that I wanted it to . including the 3 horsepower water pump moter at the bottom of the 400 ft well .

The unit is a great generator I only had one problem when I received it there was oil in the bottom of the package and a bolt with a small rubber piece sitting on the bottom, I check out the unit completely. I filled it with oil and checked for leaks and for any missing bolts none found I started the unit on propane and it ran great I ran it for about 15 mins with no load and will run it more when I have time off work. Shipping was slow but I got it with help from customer service (Vanessa) was great. (Great Generator)

Product Description

The Duromax xp10000eh has a dual fuel system that operates on either standard gasoline or cleaner burning liquid propane which can more than double you generator's run time. With the xp10000eh, operating on propane will not gum up or foul your generator's carburetor and will give you quick, reliable starts. It only takes a few seconds to switch over from regular gas to propane and with the flexible line, you can easily hook up any size propane tank including the one from your barbeque. When the ambient temperature is under 40 degrees propane by nature contracts and the pressure within the cylinder is not powerful enough to push enough gas into the carburetor to start the engine. The solution to this is to start the engine on gasoline for a few minutes and then switch over to propane.

fter filling with 10w-30 oil, through a small funnel using about the 350 cc per the instructions, I filled the tank with about half a gallon of 89 octane ethanol free gas. There is a tall filter in the fuel opening. I switched the machine to ON, fuel valve ON, fuel cap OPEN, primed 6 times with the choke off, put the choke on and pulled. The first pull it started (I was surprised) but before I could turn the choke off, it quit, so once I turned it to RUN it started and held at the second pull. As far as hot starting, if you turn it off and then try immediately to start it, you don't need the choke. After a few minutes, you have to start it like a cold start with priming and choke. Later I tried to start and it took maybe 5 or 6 pulls, and later still about 3 or 4. On those lukewarm starts, it seemed to like to need priming, 3 pulls with the choke on, and then choke turned to RUN to start.

Overall, this generator does what I intended. I wanted one that was lightweight that I could toss into the car for small day outings. I have a larger, heavier, brand name inverter generator that I can't do this with. This generator fits the bill. It's light, fits into the trunk, runs a Traeger grill, dish tailgater and LED tv, battery charger, and phone chargers without issue. It's a touch louder than it's brand name counterparts, but still very acceptably quiet. It has one outlet. I wish it had two, but I carry a power strip with it so I'm able to overcome that without much trouble. It seals up very nice and doesn't smell like gas if you "close" the vent on the cap before storing. That's nice when it's in the trunk of the car. It's very nice that it comes with the 12 volt charging cable and screwdriver that you definitely need.

The oil fill. It's annoying. You have to pull 4 screws and remove the side panel to check/fill the oil. It isn't difficult, it's just cumbersome to do every time you want to check the oil. You also do not want to overflow the oil. I learned the hard way that if you spill oil below the fill spout, you can't get it out. It is extremely difficult to get in there to clean the spilled oil. Prior to clean up, it runs out the bottom and makes a mess wherever you have the generator sitting. I was eventually able to clean it and will not repeat the mistake.Startup is easy. So far, I've never pulled the rope more than once. Once running, it does seem to run all afternoon without needing fuel. I've been very pleased to not need to refuel it during a BBQ or afternoon outing. I haven't run it a full day as I'm sure it would need a refueling over more than just an afternoon.

Great product, starts with the first half pull every time. Light and not as loud as most. I'm a contractor and out rings all my tools, ran my string lights, torpedo heater, air compressor, just fine but added the skill saw to the mix and it bogged down. So air comp. And skill saw can't run at the same time with everything else in play

Powerfull product, no complains even under heavy duty,As mentioned before always starts with the first pull,Got another one for my holiday house
